Anchor Pac Achieves 10x Faster Transactions with Propel Apps Zero-Touch Solution

Anchor Packaging, a St. Louis-based leader in food packaging with $800 million in annual sales, is known for its innovative food containers and commitment to eco-friendly practices. Operating on Oracle EBS R12.2.9, Anchor implemented Oracle mobile supply chain applications (MSCA) in 2010 to modernize its inventory and warehouse operations. However, recent growth highlighted issues with outdated RF devices, inefficient transaction processes, and lack of real-time visibility. These challenges led to significant inefficiencies, with handlers abandoning the outdated system due to slow transaction times and connectivity problems. This legacy platform became a major bottleneck in Anchor’s supply chain.

To tackle workforce challenges and improve operations, Anchor pursued a next-generation solution to address current issues and foster innovation. After reviewing various IT vendors, they chose Propel Apps for its strong track record with Oracle MSCA solutions. Propel Apps was then tasked with overhauling Anchor’s technology and modernizing outdated transaction systems. Propel Apps took up the coveted project and introduced a modern zero-touch scanning solution that reduced transaction times from 5 minutes to 30 seconds. Covering 400 users across various facilities, the new system improved workflows and integrated seamlessly with Oracle WMS.

With Propel Apps’ solution, Anchor perceived major benefits such as:

  • Reduction of transaction time
  • Minimization of IT support
  • Elimination of manual processes
  • Decrease in hardware costs
  • 100% adoption rate
  • Zero connectivity issues
  • 100% elimination of errors
